유수의 창작 뮤지컬을 발굴한 <글로컬 뮤지컬 라이브>가 다섯 번째 시즌을 시작한다. <글로컬 뮤지컬 라이브>는 국내뿐만 아니라 해외에서도 무대화 가능성이 있는 창작 뮤지컬을 발굴, 지원하는 프로그램으로 지금까지 뮤지컬 <팬레터>, <마리 퀴리>, <더 캐슬>, <구내과 병원>, <그라피티> 등을 성공적으로 무대화했다. 특히 <팬레터>는 지난 2018년 대만 타이중 국가가극원에서 공연되어 해외 뮤지컬 시장 진출 성과를 냈다.
문화체육관광부와 한국콘텐츠진흥원이 주최하는 ‘2021 신진 스토리 작가 육성 지원사업’의 일환으로 진행되는 <글로컬 뮤지컬 라이브 시즌6>는 서류와 면접 심사를 거쳐 선정된 6개 작품의 개발을 돕는다. 선정된 6개 작품 창작자들에게는 창작지원금 500만 원이 지급되며, 뮤지컬 배우와 연출가가 참여하는 테이블 리딩을 시작으로, 전문가 개별 멘토링, 단체 강의 교육 기회가 주어진다. 4개월간의 교육과 작품 개발이 끝나면, 중간평가를 통해 국내 쇼케이스 무대를 가질 2개 작품을 뽑는다. 최종 우수 작품으로 선정된 작품은 해외 공연 및 국내 공연 등 사업화를 지원받는다.
한편, 작품 개발부터 해외 진출까지 원스톱(One-stop)으로 지원하는 <글로컬 뮤지컬 라이브 시즌6>는 공연제작사 라이브㈜가 주관하며, 문화체육관광부와 한국콘텐츠진흥원이 주최하고, 뮤지컬 전문지 더뮤지컬과 유니플렉스가 함께 참여한다.
‘GLOCAL MUSICAL LIVE’ the excavator of tremendous creative musicals is now starting up the 6th season. ‘GLOCAL MUSICAL LIVE’ is a program to dig up and support potential creative musicals for the global stages as well as domestic, so that many musicals such as ‘Fan letter’, ‘Mary Curie’, ‘The Castle’, ‘Dr. koo’s clinic’, 'Graffiti' have been successfully staged so far. Especially ‘Fan letter’ was performed at The National Taichung Theater, Taiwan in 2018 as a successful exporting musical on the global market.
Proceeded as a part of ‘2021 Supporting program to promote rising story writer’ sponsored by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea Creative Content Agency, ‘GLOCAL MUSICAL LIVE Season 6’ helps development of the 6 works which were selected through documentations and interviews. $5,000 is supported to the selected 6 works creators, and they get a chance to receive a professional mentoring and group lecture education as well as table reading with musical actors and directors. After 4 months of training and development process, 2 works are selected for domestic show-case by mid-term evaluations. The final selected work is supported to have a chance of commercialization for oversea expansion as well as domestic performance.
Meanwhile, a performance production company LIVE corp. is hosting this ‘GLOCAL MUSICAL LIVE Season 6’ with one-stop support from development to the oversea expansion, also the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Korea Creative Content Agency are sponsoring, and a musical magazine The Musical, UNIPLEX the theatre are participating on this program.
